Diagnostic Assessment and Learning Plan Software for Tutoring Centers

Give a student an assessment, and Calimatic lines up the lesson for every question they skipped or got wrong. Assign those lessons, adjust the plan and print it for the family.

Learning Plans in Calimatic turn a student’s assessment result into a list of lessons to work on. You map a lesson document to each assessment question once, and when a student finishes, Generate Learning Plan highlights every skipped or wrong answer in red and puts a print button next to the lesson mapped to it.

This is the diagnose-then-teach routine most tutoring centers run on paper. The assessment, the lesson library and the plan live in the same system as your students and classes, so the lessons for missed questions can be assigned automatically and the whole plan printed for the parent conference.

How it works

    1. 1

      Build the diagnostic assessment

Create an online assessment from your question bank, organized by category and sub-category. Use radio buttons, checkboxes, dropdowns, matching questions with images and more than four options per question, or a whiteboard question where students draw and write their answer on a diagram or worksheet. Turn on Randomize Questions if you want a different order each time.

    2. 2

Map a lesson to each question

In your curriculum documents, open a document’s actions and choose Learning Plan Mappings to link it to the questions it teaches. One document can cover many questions, and each question has one document. Documents and lessons with active mappings cannot be deleted, so a plan never points at a missing lesson.

    3. 3

      The student takes the assessment

Families complete assigned assessments in the parent portal, or staff use Start Assessment to sit with one student and record their answers. Questions appear in the order you set unless randomized.

    1. 4

      Generate the learning plan

Open the student’s result with View Result and click Generate Learning Plan. Every question is listed, skipped and wrong answers are highlighted in red, and each one has a button to print its mapped lesson. Correct answers show no lesson.

    2. 5

      Adjust, assign and print

Admins can rename or remove lessons and remap questions in the plan. Lessons for wrong or unanswered questions can be assigned to the student automatically, and Print Learning Plan produces the whole plan with full header details, each page sized to fit the printed page.
